Prescott Civil Law was founded in 2021 by Barbara Prescott after years of working for Silverman Law in Bozeman, MT. When Barbara began building Prescott Civil Law, she was determined to create a law firm that gets fantastic results while making the process as warm and straightforward for clients as possible.
Background
Barbara is an attorney in Bozeman, Montana where she practices civil law. She believes every problem has a solution and is passionate about helping others manage the challenges and complexities of business and life. She was attracted to practicing law partly because of the stories. She is licensed to practice in Wyoming and Montana.

About Barbara Prescott
A quintessential mid-westerner born and raised in northern Illinois, Barbara can’t imagine being happier living anywhere than the mountain west. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Communications and Classics.
After working as a cook at fly fishing resorts and remote science camps and even running her own small bakery in Alaska, Barbara went back to school to earn a master’s degree in industrial and labor relations with a special focus on alternative dispute resolution from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
After graduate school, she joined the Eaton Corporation where she was a business leader in human resources, domestic and international labor relations, acquisition integration and business ethics and compliance. She lived and worked in South Africa and Istanbul Turkey. While with Eaton, Barbara completed a law degree at Cleveland State University.
When not working, Barbara enjoys spending time with her family and friends in Montana and exploring the natural beauty of Montana and Wyoming hiking, fishing and cycling, camping in her vintage Shasta trailer. She is an active member of Bozeman Sunrise Rotary. She loves a good movie and is so glad to be part of the board of directors of the Bozeman Film Society where she helps keep ‘em flickering.
